I'm based in North Essex and have over 20 years experience mountain biking, hill walking and wild camping. I semi-retired in 2019 and I'm now a trainee Hill and Moorland Leader. My aim is to develop the skills and experience necessary to lead groups on wild camping expeditions.
I have attended several training courses (see below) over the last year or so and I've been fortunate to not only learn from some excellent instructors, but also meet some great people. One lunchtime conversation lead to a recommendation and eventual meeting with Emma Holland. As we discussed my ideas for Camp 404 we quickly discovered a common love for the hills and wild camping and crucially, a real desire to share with others how those experiences can benefit mental wellbeing.
With Emma fully supportive and keen to work in partnership with the Camp 404 project, planning and preparation for the first outdoor workshop and wild camping expedition began in early 2020.
